Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Honestly, this should be easy.LOL. I was going over it like 70 times before writing this review, so let's see where this goes.

Summary:

Ruby Cooper isn't an ordinary seventeen year old girl. Her mom abandoned her in the yellow house they were living in, and eventually, she gets taken in at her sister's home. Cora, her sister, used to be almost a mother figure until she left for college one day. Ruby's never seen or talked to Cora since the day she left.

At Jamie (her brother in law) and Cora's house, she meets Nate, and they eventually become friends. Fall in love, even. Until she finds out a HORRIBLE secret about him. Lock and Key is basically a novel about learning that even the most perfect person comes from a checkered past.

Review:

Since Lock and Key was a reread, I pretty much knew the main events. However, since I didn't remember the itty bitty details, it was almost like reading it for the first time, all over again. And I also think that because it was the second time reading it, I was scrutinizing how many times certain words were used. Basically, I was being really hard on it.

Rating: 5/5.

The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon

So many reviews to catch up on! Wintergirls, Bloom, and I still have to read at least 7 more!!

RAWR.

Summary:
Brent Runyon is your normal 8th grader. Sort of. After accidentally setting a matchbook on fire and then burning a gym shirt and locking the matches inside a locker, he knows he's doomed. So he decides to commit suicide. The Burn Journals detail his recovery in the hospitals, the people he meet, and the friendship he kindles with practically everyone.

Review:
I really only finished it bcause I would die if I didn't. I'm kind of glad I did, and I'm kind of disappointed that I did at the same time. This book was so perverted. In the beginning, he was talking about literally MOLESTING another girl. Like, are you serious? I literally put the book down and hit it with another book. I was so disgusted. And this is a true story too! Ughh I just had a taste into the mind of a normal teenage boy. -___-
